Temperature Remote Data Acquisition Logger.

Spectrum 1000 temperature data loggers incorporate the latest advances in data logging and temperature-sensing technologies. Each logger features an integral precision-tolerance thermistor temperature sensor with outstanding long-term stability, measurement sensitivity, and responsiveness. Designed for use in a wide range of environments, the dataloggers can operate reliably under even the most extreme temperature conditions. What's more, the ten-year battery ensures that your data logger won't quit in the middle of a critical monitoring session.

The Neon Client System is a suite of software applications which allow clients to set up their own Neon system on their existing server hardware. The Neon Client System software is provided on a licence basis and allows clients to set up measurement systems using Neon Remote Data Terminals (NRTs) in the field, and have these NRT's communicate with the central server. Installation, customization and software support for the the Neon server is also provided.

Spectrum 1000 data loggers interface to any PC (through any serial or USB port) with Spectrum Software, a powerful windows-based package for configuring, downloading, displaying, analyzing and reporting collected temperature information. With Spectrum software you can display temperature data in graphical or tabular form or export results for use in other programs. The logger can also be used with the Spectrum Excel add-in, a free utility program designed to work directly within Microsoft Excel.

The temperature data logger has been used to study the effectiveness of a water treatment plant by making before and after studies of key factors such as turbidity. The data logger may also be used in remote weather station locations where the data can be transmitted with a modem to a central monitoring station. In matters of the environment, the flexibility, and portablitiy of the system are evident and well appreciated.

For example, a simple temperature data logger is very easy to configure with LabVIEW SignalExpress. By combining LabVIEW SignalExpress with a USB data acquisition solution, such as NI CompactDAQ, you can build a multi-channel logging solution and acquire data within seconds. Connect the the thermocouples to the direct connectivity on the modular measurement modules used in NI CompactDAQ. Connect the USB cable to the device so that the device is automatically configured. Once recognized, LabVIEW SignalExpress automatically begins acquiring live data from your measurement device. Engineers can view the traces while they are being acquired, stream the data to disc, or dynamically execute an event if a temperature goes out of range.

Data Acquisition technology continues to evolve, with high speed data interfaces and networking forcing major change to previous practices. Sensitive low level signals can now be left in the field, with just the desired data being returned to a remote computer for analysis. This is the function of a dataTaker data logger or DAQ box, providing the functionality and speed of a DAQ board, adding the standalone capability to process, consolidate and log data for later downloading. A series of data loggers interconnected by a network allows data gathering closer to sensors, for improved signal quality and reduced installation cost.

Remote data logging systems for temperature, RH, pressure, flow, vibration and a wide range of sensors, analogue and digital signals, Wireless systems with ranges up to 3 KM. Ethernet, RS485/MODBUS and GSM/GPRS enabled loggers for remote data acquisition via LAN, web browser, SMS text and email worldwide.

So why choose data logger over other data acquisition systems? Most data acquisition systems require installation of a DA card in a PC and the connection and wiring of the sensors. These systems work well in permanenty configured, on-line applications but is difficult to implement and can be costly. Data loggers significantly reduce the cost for most logging applications and are much easier to implement, and can be place in areas that digital systems can not reach.

Veriteq data loggers are connected to a network through either a PC or an ethernet-to-serial device server. Once connected, the viewLinc "Host" software, residing on a PC on the network, reads the data loggers continuously and shares this data across a network with other computers (refer to viewLinc system diagram). Remote viewing of this data on another computer is enabled by a simple software installation.

Data acquisition system manufacturers create systems that consist of three main components. First, sensors respond to physical stimulation by transmitting signals or altering electrical properties like resistance. Data loggers then take the signal and convert it into a number—by a process called digitizing and store the value or change it into a statistic. The final component of data acquisition systems is a type of computer that communicates with the data logger to collect what information has been measured. The data that is displayed on the computer is only as good as the sensor's ability to measure conditions and the data logger's ability to resolve the measurements.

Multiple channel thermocouple based temperature data loggers connect to a PC via RS232 serial port or USB. Instruments are accompanied by a versatile Windows software package for display, plotting and logging of temperatures. Built in calibration wizard enables overall system measurement accuracy of 0.1 C including thermocouple wire error. Options include humidity inputs as well as high resolution and high accuracy RTD or thermistor probes.

On a more practical note, PC-based data logging could underpin major improvements in both household and commercial energy efficiency. For example, today's central heating systems are currently limited by what the user can achieve with the three or four buttons on the controller. A computer could easily control household and office heating systems of the future, and a smart system could find the PC downloading weather forecasts from the web to manage the system in an efficient way.

The Monitor Labs RegPerfect data acquisition software system is the newest Monitor Labs data acquisition handling and reporting system. It leverages more than 20 years of experience in the data acquisition system business from both Monitor Labs and Odessa Engineering.

The NDACS instruments are high precision general purpose loggers and Ethernet data acquisition systems and are ideally suited to form large remote data acquisition systems. The instruments can be deployed to record data continually, to look for and report a specific event or to simply send data to remote SCADA systems across the Internet. An email alarm system can be configured to send alarm messages to multiple users should any preset condition be exceeded. No matter how communication to the instrument is made the same User Interface is maintained and all instrument operations can be configured by an industry standard Web Browser.

Data loggers range from simple single-channel input to complex multi-channel instruments. Typically, the simpler the device the less programming flexibility. Some more sophisticated instruments allow for cross-channel computations and alarms based on predetermined conditions. The newest of data loggers can serve web pages, allowing numerous people to monitor a system remotely.
